Meet Adrian - Assistant Purchasing Manager!

Get acquainted with Adrian our Assistant Purchasing Manager who has been with us for over 14 years! He began his journey with DELI LITES working within the label room. After showing great spirit to progress and contribute, Adrian joined the Despatch team where he worked on production planning and documentation which is still used today! A few years of hard work later he was given the opportunity to move into Purchasing where he is now! Here is a little more from Adrian himself… My role as Assistant Purchasing Manager is quite complex. Every day starts with commuting between all storage areas where I note stock levels for Production. Fixing any issues we may face gives me a chance to get my hands on something different. This can range from ordering stock which may need to come at a specific time from each supplier to organising and setting tasks for the staff who intake deliveries and replenish storage and production areas. In the midst of all of this, I stay in contact with suppliers to find better products and efficiencies. The biggest challenge is making sure that all the products are delivered on time, ensuring that all ingredients are at their optimum freshness and that we have the right quantities every day. For anyone interested in a similar career path it is vital to be organised, never let jobs stack up and always complete anything that can be done in the present. Over the last five years, I have noticed a massive trend leaning towards healthy, sustainable and vegan foods - which is becoming increasingly important to us. Personally, the Free Range Egg and Bacon sandwich tops them all! Five years in the future you will still find me at DELI LITES. I would like to be within the same department but working with bigger and greater projects.
